This compilation of outdoor-themed mini-games will have family members of all ages using their whole bodies as they kayak, jet ski, shoot and more eight different outdoor-themed activities.
The game is theoretically set in a summer camp type setting, and there's a bit of a backstory involved in trying to have the best score in the event while avoiding the sabotaging tactics of a former camper.
Each mini-game starts off with a game of Bear/Hunter/Ninja, which is a version of Rock/Paper/Scissors. Players must stand with their sides facing the TV, and on the count of 3 make the appropriate motion. Although fun, a frustrating problem is when the game doesn’t recognize a player’s movement, and it’s an automatic loss.
Families can choose the game of their choice, or do a series of 10 events in the Cabela’s Cup. It’s really cool how you can jump right into any activity without having to worry about unlocking them.
The different games available in Cabela’s Adventure Camp are Biking, Kayaking, Wave Riding, Fishing, Skeet Shooting, Sporting Clays and Archery.
The game uses “Griefing” as selling point. What this means is that players can cause trouble for other players in game by placing obstacles in their path. An offscreen player with an Xbox 360 controller can make things more difficult for the “active” player. Griefing is not an option in two-player modes.
Cabela’s Adventure Camp is a fun collection of outdoor games that’s great for multiplayer action, with 2 player head-to-head races and up to 4 players able to compete while taking turns in other events. Some of the events require big movements, which is great for families looking for some active gameplay.
