Despite a few times where you might get stuck or confused as to what to do next, Cars Race-o-Rama delivers wholesome humor and gameplay that is good for gamers of nearly all skill levels.

|
Highlights:
- The cute wholesome fun and humor of Cars is in this game in abundance. If you or someone in your family is a Cars fan, they'll appreciate the humor and look
- Within the game, the Guido Kart races are easy and fun, and good for some friendly competition for the whole family
- The family can jump right into some multiplayer races, although you'll need to play through the single player modes a bit to unlock more cars and events
|
|
Lowlights:
- In single player mode, the system for moving on to the next level is very confusing. I found myself driving around the track wondering what to do, when really all that was needed was to press a few buttons on the map screen
- If there is a way to reverse, we couldn't figure it out, and cars would sometimes become stuck
- Although the driving with the Wii-mote steering school is pretty easy, there are some advanced techniques like jumping and nudging that take some practice

Game Details:
(NOTE - This information is based on the Wii version)
In Cars Race-o-Rama, you'll hold the Wii mote sideways or plug it into the Wii steering wheel accessory (sold with other driving games such as Mario Kart). As with other games that use this type of controls, sometimes the turning will take a bit getting used to.
It's possible to jump right in and play head-to-head with your family, but you'll need to play through the single player campaign a bit if you want to unlock more cars and activities.
For the most part, this is a fun game to play with your kids 5 and older. Depending on how your teenager views the Cars series though, this may seem a bit too kiddy for them. But anyone who like the standard cars look and humor should enjoy the way the developers have translated it to Race-o-Rama.
GENERAL GAME INFORMATION: Join Lightning McQueen in Radiator Springs as he prepares his academy of student racers for the Race-O-Rama competition. Lightning finds out that Chick Hicks has his own set of academy student racers who don’t always compete fairly. These student racers are preparing to race in the same competitions in order to propel Chick Hick’s academy to the #1 spot. The races take place at various tracks from the beaches, into the cities and off to the Baja desert. Along the way, racers are upgrading their abilities and customizing their look. The finale consists of a fully modified, ultimate Lightning McQueen racing against a fully modified Chick Hicks for the Race-O-Rama trophy. Let the race begin!
