Cats & Dogs DS is a very cute game with a nice sense of humor that adults can certainly appreciate. There’s nothing exceptional about the game’s puzzles or gameplay, but it’s still a fun time for kids and up, especially those who are animal lovers. We recommend this as a fun diversion for kids and tweens.

ESRB Rating Summary: This is an action-platformer game in which players join animal allies to take on the villainous cat "Kitty Galore." As players run and jump through residential neighborhoods, they occasionally face enemy cats and birds; player can defeat the small animals by whacking them with a rolled-up newspaper, tossing a plastic ball, or employing a "sonic-bark" laser attack (natural power rather than Q-gadget). The animals sometimes cry out when hit and quickly disappear when eliminated—sometimes in a plume of feathers. Dialogue contains humor related to typical animal behavior— atypical expressions: "The cleaner the car, the more fun it is to go to the bathroom on it" and "Be careful which butts you sniff from now on."
