Family Friendliness: We think Chickens Quest is a good, fun time-wasting app.  Younger kids will be able to get the hang of it, but may not be able to quickly perform the right actions under the time pressures.  The game is also designed for players to replay each level in order to get the maximum amount of stars as they proceed the game, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but can lead to some frustration.

Highlights:
- Excellent tutorials slowly introduce each of the different in-game options and gameplay mechanics, making it easy to learn for anyone who can read.

Lowlights:
- Load times for each level aren’t unbearable, but they do take a bit of time.   There’s also no way to speed up your chickens once you have all your moves set, so sometimes you do feel like you are doing a lot of waiting between bursts of playing.

- There’s a high threshold of stars necessary to progress through every 8th level.  Not only do you need three stars for every level, but you also have to collect the ones throughout certain levels.  It can be somewhat tedious to have to replay just to collect stars, especially when combined with slightly long load times for each level.

Game Details:

Chickens Quest is an App which consists of timed levels in which players must move objects to create a path for chickens to make it across the screen and to the goal.

At the beginning of each level players are told how many total chickens they have and how many they need to try to get to the finish line in order to proceed.  To help the chickens on their path, players will need to touch and drag obstacles, create bridges, or even use items like bombs and stop signs to clear or alter the path for the chickens.  Each level is timed, so players only have a brief window to clear the course before the chickens start coming across the screen.

The first few levels of the game are designed to slowly introduce players to the different gameplay elements of Chickens Quest.   For example, in one level bombs and how to use them are introduced.  This is done via written instructions along with an onscreen demonstration of how it works.  We thougt these did a nice job of explaining what players needed to do.  As the game progresses, the levels get more and more challenging as even more obstacles and predators are introduced, all of which make it more difficult to get your chickens to the finish line.

We really like the cartoony art style of Chickens Quest as well, and think that the clear drawings and great tutorials will help this game appeal to a broad range of ages.
