Club Penguin Game Day! is based on the popular Club Penguin online universe.  Much like the online version, this game puts a big emphasis on customization, encouraging you to create your own penguin and allowing you to take it with you even if you are playing the game at a friend’s house.

Up to four players can play Club Penguin Game Day! at a time, with the overall goal being to win as many mini-events as possible in order to claim more of the island for your color.

In the game's "Story Mode," your penguin needs to wander around the island, with a chance to practice and compete in the mini-game events.  We actually found moving around and figuring out where to go to be a bit confusing in this mode, altough we eventually figured out that in order to compete in the events, you needed to talk to the referree penguin.

The mini-games themselves are an enjoyable mixture of game-types, ranging from building a big snowball to balancing as many java bean bags as you can.  There are 12 events in all, and all of them are playable by up to four players.

Although the penguins themselves and the graphics will appeal to toddlers, this game is better suited for kids who posess a decent degree of coordination with the controllers.  Additionally, most menu commands are only written, so again kids that are old enough to be strong readers will be able to understand what is happening onscreen.

Despite's it's seemingly broad appeal to even the youngest kids, Club Penguin Game Day is best recommended for kids who are strong readers and are pretty confident and precise with the Wii-mote.  It's definitely a fun way to expand the Club Penguin online universe into your home, but we found Club Penguin Game Day to be at times confusing and surprisingly difficult.  We recommend it for competitive families with young kids who are looking for a challenge.
