Disney Sing-It: Family Hits is a karaoke game featuring songs from many of Disney’s most popular animated movies.  This game is aimed towards young kids and even toddlers, but really anyone who enjoys these Disney movies will enjoy singing along.

(There’s also a similar version of this game called Disney Sing-It: Party Hits which has content that may be more enjoyable for older kids and tweens, so between the two games you can likely find something just right for your family.)

To play the game, you'll need a controller and at least one microphone.  Using the controller, you'll select songs and gameplay types, and when it's time to play, you sing into the microphone along with the words and tune as they scroll across the screen.  If you don't already have a microphone, it's possible to purchase this game with a microphone included.

Obviously, there's an element of reading involved as the lyrics go across the screen.  Although young kids may have many of the words to these songs memorized, there are definitely times where it helps to be able to read the words onscreen.

What we liked the most about the Disney Sing-It games was that it records everything, so after the song you can play your singing back and mess around with it, altering your voice to sound more squeaky, or like a robot, for example.

Disney Sing It: Family Hits includes songs from the 101 Dalmations, Beauty and the Beast, Bugs Life, Cars, Cinderella, Aladdin, Jungle Book, Lady and the Tramp,Lion King, Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Monsters Inc., Mulan, Princess and Frog, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, Toy Story and Winnie the Pooh.

The game also includes other modes besides normal karaoke, including a Vocal Coach mode that helps teach kids the basics of music, and a Pass the Mic mode, where up to 8 players will need to pass the microphone around the room.  This is great, because it means that in multiplayer mode, you can involve nearly everyone in the room, even if you only have one microphone.

If you’re looking for a karaoke game to play with your kids, the Disney Sing-It series is likely the best, most trustworthy and most fun way to find songs the whole family can sing along with.
