Family Friendliness: We think Family Feud Decades makes for a fun, conversational style party game with questions that even kids can understand (such as "Name a place that has a cafeteria").  We definitely recommend this as an easy-to-play game that can highlight both competition and cooperation across a broad range of ages.

Highlights:

- Questions are simple enough that a broad range of ages can participate and enjoy answering the surveys.

- Smart use of classic sets from each era to accompany the decade which you are playing.

Lowlights:

- Although the developers attempted to make a family member from each era of the show, it’s actually kind of hard to figure out who belongs to what decade sometimes.

- Even though the game is listed as only two players, it’s even more enjoyable to add players to each team.

Game Details:

Family Feud Decades for Wii lets up to 2 players play the iconic game show that’s been around since the 1970s.  Each player takes control of their entire family, and players will choose whether to play with questions and surveys taken from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s or 2000s.

The rules of the game are just like the game show.  Families start with a face off as they try and guess the most popular answer to a question given to a survey of 100 people.  The goal is to come up with as many correct answers as possible without letting your opponent steal your points if you get more than three incorrect answers.

After the game’s initial rounds, there’s also the Family Feud Fast Money bonus round.

Once you play, you’ll see that you have 20 seconds to answer each question.  The game uses an auto-complete feature, and also puts a strong emphasis on single word answers.  It makes it feel a bit unnatural, but it’s understandable why it’s like this.

Even though the game is only for two players, it is actually pretty easy to be able to increase the size of your teams just by passing the Wii-mote (or by sharing answers with your teammate and having one player input them).

We think Family Feud Decades makes for a fun, conversational style party game with questions that even kids can understand (such as "Name a place that has a cafeteria").  We definitely recommend this as an easy-to-play game that can highlight both competition and cooperation across a broad range of ages.
