ESRB Rating:
ESRB Rating Summary
E10+ Cartoon Violence
Release Date: October 11, 2011
Game System: Wii
Publisher: Namco Bandai
Players: 4
Family Friendly Video Games Approved
Family Friendliness: With the difficulty of controls, we recommend families heed the E 10+  warning, as the controls are just too difficult for younger kids or for parents who may be intimidated by controllers.  But for more experienced gamers looking for some new fun competitive games, Go Vacation has a ton of them, and is definitely worth checking out if you’re looking to add some more variety to your Wii collection.

Highlights:
- Stamp Dash makes it fun to try the great variety of activities and events to choose from – more than 50 in all

- Great head-to-head and competitive multiplayer options, perfect for families.

Lowlights:
- Controls aren’t necessarily simple. While it’s intuitive to flick up to jump, you have to do it with the nunchuk.  Or at times you’re prompted to use the “-“ button, which likely you’ll need to look at the controller to do.  The “c” button, “z” button – they’re all used in Go Vacation – which may be intimidating to some.

Game Details:

Go Vacation offers a ton of different games for up to four-players.  The setting is a place called Kawawii Island, which is home to four different resorts: Marine, City, Snow and Mountain

The controls in this game aren’t necessarily simple, although they do make sense once you get the hand of it.  The game requires nunchuk and makes extensive use of all the buttons on both theWii-mote and nunchuk.

For starters, there are some character customization options right when you begin, and up to four players can play at a time. Once you’re past the character creation stage, you’re ready to start exploring Kawawii island.

The game boasts more than 50 activities, and while that may seem overwhelming, the game’s “Stamp Dash” system of collect rewards in each event makes it fun to try each one.  We love the great variety of beach events, mountain events and more.  There are carnival games, mini-golf, kart racing, sky diving, and many many more.

With the difficulty of controls, we recommend families heed the E 10+  warning, as the controls are just too difficult for younger kids or for parents who may be intimidated by controllers.  But for more experienced gamers looking for some new fun competitive games, Go Vacation has a ton of them, and is definitely worth checking out if you’re looking to add some more variety to your Wii collection.
