Game Details:

Yet another installment in the Just Dance series, the Summer Party game offers more great Just Dance fun with some all new, popular summer songs.

We love the Just Dance series of games, as you can see in our reviews of the original Just Dance, Just Dance 2 and Just Dance Kids.

As with those previous games, don't be scared by the E 10+ for Just Dance Summer Party.  The reason for the higher rating is based on the lyrics of the songs.  The gameplay is appropriate for any age, and in fact is great for kids under 5 because the controls aren't too precise.  So, if you're fine with your kids listening to the songs below, then you should be fine with them playing Just Dance Summer Party (or any other Just Dance game).

In fact, looking at Just Dance Summer Party is really simple.  If your family loves Just Dance and is dying for a chance to play more songs, then by all means pick it up.  But if you’re satisified with what you already have, Just Dance Summer Party doesn’t offer too much new outside of new song selections.  That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but just know that this isn’t a big evolution of the franchise, as Just Dance 3 is expected to be in Holiday 2011.

Christy, Thanks for pointing this out. We should have included that in our write-up originally and have added it. Basically, the reason these games get an E10+ is due to lyrics in some of the songs. Most of the songs are just fine for kids to listen to, and the gameplay is great for even kids as young as 2 because all they have to do is jump around like the characters onscreen or like their family is doing. Check out the song list, the majority of them are just fine for an age, and even the ones that are "questionable" don't push the envelope too far. Thanks! - Johner

There is a pretty big disparity between saying a game is OK for a two year old and having an ESRB rating of 10+. Why isn't that addressed in the review?
