Game Details:

Although no firm release date has been announced, the company has stated that Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is scheduled to be available sometime in 2011.

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword requires you to use a Wii-Motion Plus controller, and sees you hold the Wii-mote like a sword.  You can do things like cut plants, mushrooms, or even poke an “eye” guarding a door to let you through.

You also use the nunchuk like a bow and arrow, and in order to access and use items, there are a lot of buttons to push.

There’s also a flying beetle you can deploy, controlling his flying with the Wii-mote.

If you’ve played a previous Zelda title, this maintains a very similar overall look and feel of the Zelda universe.

It’s cartoony and magical feeling, but ultimately families should be aware that the gameplay relies heavily upon Link attacking enemies with different weapons such as swords and bow and arrow.

INFORMATION FROM COMPANY FACT SHEET

A Link to the Future
The Legend of Zelda™: Skyward Sword marks a turning point for The Legend of Zelda franchise. The introduction of full motion control enabled by the Wii MotionPlus™ accessory synchronizes player movements with Link’s actions while offering the most intuitive play control of any game in The Legend of Zelda
franchise to date.

Thanks to the required Wii MotionPlus accessory, every movement of Link’s sword matches the player’s motion with exact precision. If players motion left to right, Link™ swings from left to right. The precision play control is applied to enemies as well, as players must contemplate strategy when battling opponents that actively try to defend against attacks.
• Wii MotionPlus puts an arsenal of items at the player’s disposal. It offers a multitude of actions with just simple, intuitive motions. Players will try their hand at firing a bow, tossing bombs and using a whip to battle enemies and solve puzzles.
• The game will also introduce a distinct new graphical style perfectly suited to the franchise’s fantastical universe, like a painting come to life.
• The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will offer a multitude of new game-play mechanics, giving it a refreshingly different feel from all of the past titles in the series.

I think it is ridiculous to make any game mandatory to use the motion plus feature. I do not know a single person, myself included, that would even want to pick up an extremely long game such as this and not be able to sit down, relax, and play it thoughtfully. This will just cause stressed people that want to play a game and unwind to become more stressed. I am not even sure i am going to buy this game at all which is more messed up than one could imagine seeing as how i own every single game made, and have been a collector of swords/shields, pictures and props from the games! It is completely dumb unless their only age group they want may be less than 10 years of age. I seriously doubt the old Zelda-goers will want much to do with this game.
