Family Friendliness: Michael Jackson: The Experience for Wii is designed for families and friends who aren’t afraid to let loose and have a good time.  With routines created to closely match the look and feel of the iconic music videos, Michael Jackson: The Experience is the perfect game for anyone slightly nostalgic for the life and songs of the King of Pop.  The dance moves are at times a bit difficult, but as long as you don’t care too much about precise scoring, even kids will enjoy dancing along to some of the most popular songs of all-time.

Highlights:
- Each song feels like you're in a Michael Jackson music video, with familiar costumes and dance moves.

- Certain songs can be played as a "Crew" or a "Duet," which is a great way for families to dance together cooperatively.
Lowlights:
- Some of the moves are sort of difficult, moreso than in other Just Dance games.  Players who are very focused on being perfect and getting the highest scores may be frustrated.

Game Details:

Michael Jackson: The Experience for Wii is a dancing game that’s easy-to-play, and makes it feel like your family is dancing right alongside the King of Pop himself.

Developed by Ubisoft, the creators of the Just Dance series of Wii games, Michael Jackson: The Experience uses the same basic dance gameplay technique, asking players to hold the Wii-mote in their right hand while mimicking the moves of the on-screen dancers.  It’s such a brilliantly simple way to control a dancing game, but the tradeoff is that score tracking and timing may not be as accurate.

Due to the inexactness of the dancing technique, we’ve found that families who are more interested in just having a good time really enjoy this type of control system, but that players who are very into getting the highest score and beating others often get frustrated by it.

Michael Jackson: The Experience offers up more than 25 of Michael Jackson’s greatest hits for you to dance along, too.  Even casual Michael Jackson fans will recognize most of the songs here, with songs like Thriller, Billie Jean, Beat It and more.  We’ve included the full list of songs below.

One of the really neat things about dancing along with the songs in this game is that the routines for each all closely mimic the memorable music videos for many of the songs.   So not only do you just have fun dancing along with great music, but you actually will feel like part of a music video.

Depending on the song you choose, you may have the option to perform as MJ’s crew, which are the backup dancers, or perform it as a duet, which is essentially a two-person routine.  It’s another neat way for multiple family members to dance at the same time.

The game is a bit more difficult than the Just Dance titles, but that’s a result of the game trying hard to replicate some of the signature moves of Michael Jackson in its routines.   But since the game won’t stop if you do too many bad moves in a row, unless your family is very fixated on getting high scores, even the hardest dances should still be fun to perform.
