Family Friendliness: Monkey Tales games are part puzzle/maze games and part math mini-games. The graphics for Monkey Tales are definitely an upgrade over a standard web-based game, and they’re a great way to get kids of each level learning and reinforcing math skills while playing a fun game.  Monkey Tales games are available via download and can be played on your PC,  and cost $14.95 apiece.

Highlights:
- Cool graphics and great tutorials will have kids getting the hand of Monkey Tales in no time.

- Math is key to mini-game success, but it’s very nicely integrated into the gameplay and not something that is constantly facing players, which should make kids enjoy it even more.

Lowlights:
- Although we loved the math-themed mini-games, sometimes we didn’t exactly understand what we were supposed to do.  For example, we finally figured out that “Numbers with 6 U” meant numbers that ended in 6, but we’re still not exactly sure what that means. (EDITOR’S NOTE: Looks like it means Units)

INFORMATION FROM COMPANY WEB SITE:
What is Monkey Tales?

In Monkey Tales, children have to win educational mini-games and compete with in-game characters to get ahead in the game and discover more about the intriguing narrative. To progress through the game world, children need to solve fun and immersive logic puzzles and demonstrate that they master topics they've studied at school.

Developed by European schoolbook publisher Die Keure and award winning game developer Larian Studios, Monkey Tales is based on years of research and was developed with the active participation of teachers, schools, universities and educational method-makers.

Monkey Tales' aim is not to instruct, that's what teachers and schools are for. Instead it aims to help children rehearse and improve skills they should have, by motivating them to do drill exercises with increasing time pressure.

A key feature of Monkey Tales is its unique algorithm that allows the game to automatically adapt to the level of children so that they feel comfortable with their ability to complete the exercises, removing any stress they might feel. From there, the game then presents progressively more difficult exercises, all the time monitoring how the child is performing and adapting if necessary. One of the most remarkable achievements of Monkey Tales is its ability to put children under time pressure to complete exercises without them complaining about it!

Monkey Tales is available for digital download from www.larianvault.com
