Family Friendliness: A tutorial mode guides first-time players through the controls, and surprisingly makes things like dunking or shooting  jump shot feel very simple and natural.  There are also more complex controls for advanced players, like posting up in the paint.

Highlights:
- Basic controls are pretty simple, with a couple options for passing: Players can face a player and use the “Pass” button or hold down a trigger and pass to any of the other players based on a directional input.

- Customizing your own team is pretty simple, with the ability to perform trades as simple as a few button clicks.

Lowlights:
- Defense can a be a bit tricky and take some time to master, but skills like stealing and blocking will be critical to having any success.

NBA 2K12 offers a very comprehensive basketball experience, with the option to jump right into a quick game with current NBA rosters to the ability to play out seasons, perform trades and manage your own teams.
