Based on the popular TV show, NCIS is a sort of seek and find game that plays out like a television episode.
After a brief introduction involving some sort of crime, the NCIS team springs into action, aided by you as the player. You must search through the crime scene to find specific pieces of evidence, or learn more information about the victim or crime by examing objects closely. After you find everything in the crime scene, you’re taken back to the lab, and also must do some computer research to find relevant facts.
All the investigating is accomplished primarily through pointing and clicking on the right place on the screen. A journal will keep track of interesting and relevant observations.
There’s also an interrogation mini-game where players must quickly push a button after a statement to get the witness to provide more detail.
NCIS deals with crimes, and often murders. So there are heavy themes that come up during the course of investigations, so it’s best to leave this one for teens and older. We do enjoy and recommend this as a game that families with teens can play together as they work to solve the crime, with one person operating the controller and the other making suggestions.
