JUST DANCE 2 – Nintendo Wii

Just Dance 2 is the perfect Wii title to have playing at any get together, whether it’s a party, dinner at grandma’s house or even just a regular Tuesday night.  It’s about as easy-to-play of a dance game as you’ll ever find, but the songs and fun dance moves make it the perfect title for families to play together both cooperatively and competitively.  We love Just Dance 2, and would recommend it to just about anyone who enjoys playing Wii, and consider this one of our favorite family-friendly video games of all time.

KINECT – Microsoft Xbox 360

Microsoft is really trying to break down barriers with Kinect and remove some of the negative stigma that many non-gameplaying familes have attached to video games.  The controller –free Kinect camera system promises to provide a way for families to come together in a fun, wholesome and even active manner.  Nearly all games are designed to be easy-to-play, which means Kinect makes videogaming accessible to families with kids (and parents) of all ages and skill-levels.  We highly recommend Kinect as the perfect option for families that want to play videogames together.


TV SUPERSTARS – Sony PlayStation 3

TV Superstars is great, zany, family fun that is perfect for playing together.  With the combination of the PlayStation Move camera putting players faces on the characters in the game, and the wacky, humorous game show challenges that players must perform, family members of all ages will have a tough time not enjoying themselves.  With a great mix of competitive and cooperative gameplay options, TV Superstars in our opinion is the must-have family friendly game for PlayStation Move.

GREASE THE GAME – Nintendo Wii

Grease the Game might as well be called “fun in a box” because it is packed with so many different ways for families with tweens and above to have a hilariously fun time playing Wii together.  In fact, we had trouble wiping the smiles from our faces as we played through the movie’s key plot points and danced along to the catchy Grease soundtrack.  With the option to sing along and for players to team up or play to head, Grease the Game is a perfect way for families to enjoy some fun video game time “together, shooby doo wop, doo wop.”

DISNEY SING IT PARTY HITS / DISNEY SING IT FAMILY HITS

There’s a lot to like about Disney Sing It: Party Hits as a game for families to enjoy together.  Not only are there a variety of cooperative and competitive modes, but the game’s tracklist does a good job of combining today’s popular music with songs from Disney stars that your kids may know better than you do, with artists ranging from the Black-Eyed Peas and Jason Mraz, to the Jonas Brothers or songs from Camp Rock 2.  We definitely recommend Disney Sing It: Party Hits for families who are ready to Let Loose and sing together, and for families with younger kids, Disney Sing-It Family Hits is a great choice that features songs from popular Disney movies like Toy Story, Jungle Book, Mary Poppins, The Lion King and more.
