Sega and Nintendo Announce Mario & Sonic At The 2012 Olympic Games

April 21 - Nintendo and Sega confirmed today that Mario and Sonic will be returning to the Olympics in 2012, with a Wii version and 3DS of the popular and family-friendly Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Series.
New events such as soccer and equestrian will debut on the Wii version, alongside classic Olympic disciplines such as track & field, aquatics and table tennis. As with previous games, there will also be "Dream" versions of all events, which are over-the-top modes that include familiar obstacles from the Mario and Sonic universe.
The 3DS version is set to contain more than 50 original Olympic themed events playable in both single and multiplayer modes.
As with its predecessors, Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games for the Wii and Nintendo 3DS is being developed by SEGA Japan and is published by SEGA across Europe and North America, and by Nintendo in the Japanese market. Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is licensed through a worldwide partnership with International Sports Multimedia (ISM), the exclusive interactive entertainment software licensee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
A launch date will be announced later in the year.
