This collection of Sudoku style games for 3DS is a great time waster, even if the fact that it has 3D capabilities has absolutely nothing to do with the gameplay.
In addition to the well-known Sudoku game, Nikoli’s Pencil Puzzle also has three other games which utilize the grid and number format. Bridges, Boxes and Museum each have unique rules which are presented with a very thorough and detailed tutorial that will have players understanding how to play within two or three minutes.
The controls are really great too. Touching boxes in each different game performs the appropriate action, and we really liked how we didn’t get bogged down figuring out the how to do what we wanted, but instead it felt natural and the only brain power we exerted was figuring out how to solve the puzzle.
Nikoli’s Pencil Puzzle is a great collection of puzzles that are the perfect timewaster. With easy-to-understand tutorials and challenging puzzles that take up more than just the bottom screen, there’s hours of pass-the-time fun here, and we really enjoyed learning the new games. We think tweens and teens will love the challenge provided by these puzzles, as well.
