Family Friendliness: Sing 4 is definitely our favorite karaoke video game we’ve ever played.  From the awesome song selection to the cool, on-the-fly voice tweaks you can make, Sing 4 is the perfect title for sing-along family fun.  If your family likes to sing together, make sure to get extra microphones to take advantage of the ability for Sing 4 to support up to four players.

Highlights:
Great song selection makes Sing 4 worth recommending on that basis alone.

On the fly tweaks to microphone, song and music settings are a great way to be able to switch things up without interrupting gameplay.

Replay mode on each song is always fun to listen to, especially when you factor in the silly effects.

Lowlights:
We wish there was a way to save replays of songs that we liked.  We couldn’t figure out how to do this, so if this is possible, we’ll be happy to correct this lowlight.

Sing 4 is a Karaoke game for Wii with a great selection of songs that allows up to 4 players to sing along simultaneously.

You’ll need a USB microphone in order to be able to play Sing 4, but luckily the game comes with one.  If you have more microphones, you can increase the number of singers.

Before we get to the game modes, we must say that we were really impressed by the song selection in Sing 4.  When they say this is the “Hits Edition,” they aren’t lying, as there are a number of great and memorable pop songs from the recent and distant past.  As we went through the list, nearly every song was the type that made us think “we can’t wait to sing along with that one.”

With the focus on singing, Sing 4 is able to allow players to do a lot of cool things.  As they sing, players can choose from different microphone effects such as reverb, echo or squeaky.  There’s also a voice correction available.  And after each song, you can listen to a replay of how you did.

Each song has the full length music video, but it’s for this reason (along with lyrical content) that the game receives a T rating.  These are all “clean” versions of songs – there are no curse words.  So we think families who are fine with letting their kids listen to this type of music would be fine letting their kids play the game.
