Family Friendliness: Because of the game’s great story and wit, we definitely recommend this for over-the-shoulder gameplay in which family member can enjoy watching another play, or even switch off the controller at various times.  Although we did have problems with the game’s combat system, we think that more experienced gamers will likely find it very simple and rewarding, and enjoy sharing the experience together.

Highlights:

- Smart sense of humor and engaging story should be appreciated by teens and grown-ups alike.

- It’s relatively easy to pull off Spiderman’s moves, such as climbing walls or slinging walls, which feels very rewarding.

Lowlights:
- It may have just been us, but we had problems with the game’s combat system.  We tried to carry out the onscreen prompts when asked, but for whatever reason seemed to have trouble doing the precise button-pushing combinations the game wanted.  We think it’s possible more experienced gamers won’t have this same kind of problem.

Game Details:

Spider Man Shattered Dimensions is an adventure game in which players take control of different Spidermans which are scattered throughout time, who are all somehow working together to restore the tablet of chaos and order.

Shattered Dimensions is a one-player game that begins with an explanation of how Spiderman shattered the tablet, which created new past, present and future dimensions, all of which feature a Spiderman that the player will control.  We found the story to be very interesting, and it will definitely keep you wanting to play more.

It’s actually very easy to climb and swing as the various Spidermans, and perform actions that make you feel like the webbed hero.  We, however, did have some difficulty with the game’s combat system. Although it seems easy enough to hit a button three times in a row to perform a specific action, it appears that having specific timing is very important, because we found it to be frustrating difficult to do exactly what we were trying to do.

One of the highlights of Spider Man Shattered Dimensions is definitely the game’s sharp wit and sense of humor that is featured throughout the story.  Spiderman is a very witty character, who offers funny and appropriate commentary throught the story and cutscenes.

Because of the game’s great story and wit, we definitely recommend this for over-the-shoulder gameplay in which family member can enjoy watching another play, or even switch off the controller at various times.  Although we did have problems with the game’s combat system, we think that more experienced gamers will likely find it very simple and rewarding, and enjoy sharing the experience together.
