Family Friendliness: With all the time pressures and the advantage provided by some recipe memorization and prioritization techniques, Sushi-Go-Round is definitely a good challenge for tweens and above, but may be a bit too difficult for most kids, especially younger ones.  But for tweens who are looking to fill their iPod Touches with cool games, or adults looking for an engrossing diversion, Sushi-Go-Round is a great App that provides a personal challenge as well as the potential for Bragging Rights battles to see who can make the most yen.

Highlights:

-Upbeat artwork and soundtrack make Sushi-Go-Round feel fun to play

-Even non-sushi fans will get better acquainted with many of the ingredients that make up sushi rolls, and may even be encouraged to try it in real-life to see if it looks like the sushi from the game.

Lowlights:

-In order to succeed, you’ll have to multi-task on a deadline – which sounds an awful lot like stressful real-life situations that we would encourage families to avoid.  But if you’re up for the challenge, Sushi-Go-Round makes the stress fun.

Game Details:

Sushi-Go-Round is a video game App based on a popular Web game.

The object of Sushi-Go-Round is to quickly and accurately serve a number of customers at a sushi bar.  You’ve got six different ingredients which can be combined in specific quantities to make certain types of sushi.  When customers are ready to order, a picture of the type of sushi they’d like appears over their head, and you can consult with an easy-to-understand recipe book in case you don’t remember how to make it.

Sushi-Go-Round is very much a game that challenges players with time pressures and puts an emphasis on doing things in a smart order.  From making sure to order more ingredients to planning out sushi rolls on the conveyor belt so they’ll reach the last customer in line, players are required to think as well as act quickly.

With all the time pressures and the advantage provided by some recipe memorization and prioritization techniques, Sushi-Go-Round is definitely a good challenge for tweens and above, but may be a bit too difficult for most kids, especially younger ones.  But for tweens who are looking to fill their iPod Touches with cool games, or adults looking for an engrossing diversion, Sushi-Go-Round is a great App that provides a personal challenge as well as the potential for Bragging Rights battles to see who can make the most yen.
