Twister Mania was one of our favorite Kinect games at E3 2011, and we love it even more now that it's finally been released. In fact, we’re not sure we can imagine a more fun Kinect game. Players will use their bodies to fit inside shapes to make them disappear from puzzles, work together with up to four players to fill other shapes, and even challenge other teams to match the shapes that they can make. Blending competitiveness, cooperation and over-the-top Let Loose fun, Take Shape seems like the perfect game for any family gathering.
While no more than two people can be in front of the sensor at a time, it is possible to have four teams of 2 compete in Free Play and in Party Mode, making this game able to be played by up to 8 players at once.
Twister Mania may have your family moving around more than any other video game you’ve ever played. You’ll be moving from left to right as you slalom around objects, crouching in pairs trying to fill up cutouts in Twist & Fit and jumping up, down and all around in Break it Down mode, which is a puzzle game in which the way to remove falling blocks is by standing in front of them and filling them up.
Most families will want to jump right in to free play mode and select their challenges and the way they want to play. But there are two other modes in Twister Mania. In Party Play, you can play with up to 8 players (4 teams of 2), or head to head with 4 players. Teams take turns based on the spin of the Twister spinner. And in Play it All, you can work to progress through each level of each event, either by yourself or cooperatively.
Each of the modes in Twister Mania is great fun, and when you put them all together, this is the perfect party game, family game, playing-with-friends game and even playing-by-yourself Kinect game. We think any family who’s looking to add elements of laughter, movement, teamwork and competition to their lives should play this. Twister Mania is our favorite Kinect game to date, and is perhaps the most fun family-friendly video game we’ve played, accessible for players of all ages.

Game Challenges

Shape Frenzy: Mimic the shape (there are over 1800!) that appears on screen and earn points based on how well you fill its silhouette.
Twist & Fit: Avoid the wall and fit your silhouette through cutouts coming at you on a moving wall. Score points by passing through a wall without touching a thing; the more wall you hit the lower your score.
Break It Down: Work your way through a stack of colored blocks by assuming their form. When a shape is removed, the wall above will begin to crumble.
Spot On: Challenge up to three players (or four teams of two) in a game of contortion H-O-R-S-E. Create a shape and see if your friends can match it.
Team up with another player for cooperative play or go head-to-head in any game mode. Twister™ Mania supports up to eight players in turn based pairs.
Relive hilarious, body-comedy moments with family and friends via photos after every play session.
