Family Friendliness: There aren’t many opportunities for shared play with Vampire Moon, but we do recognize the game is sort of the video game equivalent of a page turner.  Once you get into the story, you’ll want to take on “just one more” puzzle to see where the story moves along.   The seek and find puzzles are somewhat easy, but the few puzzles the game does have can be difficult, so we recommend this one for tweens and up.

Highlights:
- The game offers very clear hints, which can come in handy when trying to find the last tricky item in a level.
Lowlights:

- The mysterious story and high difficulty of a few of the puzzles make this game best suited for tweens and up, even though kids can definitely enjoy the numerous seek and find levels.

Game Details:

Vampire Moon is a fun hide and seek mystery game that unfolds as players follow the story of a young reporter sent to Transylvania to research a mysterious solar eclipse that’s been going on for days.

The game is actually a series of seek and find pictures and puzzles that move the story along.  So for example, there might be a big detailed drawing of a dark street with a broken cart, and players must pan and scan the photo for hidden objects within it, such as fruit, tools or even objects such as trumpets or buttons.   Once a player plays a level in the story mode, it’s available to be played whenever as a standalone seek and find.

All the directions, story and names of the objects you are looking for are written, so reading skills are a must for players of this game.

The story tries to be very dark and mysterious, but it’s commendable how the game designers are able to move the plot along with primarily using the same basic seek and find puzzle over and over.  After awhile, the game can become repetitive, though.  Additionally, we came to appreciate the hint button, because sometimes the last couple of objects can prove to be hard to find.
