Family Friendliness: Zoo Train is a perfect app for toddlers and pre-schoolers - not only will it keep them engaged and occupied with a nice variety of game types, but each mode also has educational value.  As parents of pre-schoolers ourselves, we definitely appreciate how Zoo Train is designed to keep kids engaged, not to trick them into buying other Apps.  We highly recommend Zoo Train as one of the best Apps available for young kids.

Highlights:

- Simple colorful graphics won’t confuse pre-schoolers who play Zoo Train.

- Five different modes provide plenty of educational value, from letter recognition to music patterns.

Lowlights:
- The only minor nitpick we have with Zoo Train is that the track-building mode seems to require fairly precise placement, and is the only mode that’s probably a bit too difficult for two year olds.

Game Details:

Zoo Train is a highly-recommended App designed for toddlers and pre-schoolers which provides educational benefits while keeping youngsters occupied with colorful artwork and clear verbal commands..

Zoo Train is a great example of a game that was designed for pre-school minds.  This App was designed by a mom of twin pre-schoolers, and does not contain any misleading or difficult links to in-App purchases.

There are five different modes in Zoo Train, and each one carries great appeal for youngsters.

In the puzzle mode, kids will drag and place puzzle pieces to make objects, such as  a car, a toucan or a butterfly.  After three successful puzzles, their miniature Zoo Train on the bottom of the screen will reach the station, and they’ll be rewarded with a sticker to place on a suitcase.  After each puzzle is completed, the word describing the object is announced.

In the game’s Whistle Music mode, kids can either play their own tunes, or choose one of four well-known songs to listen too.  Even while songs are playing, kids can still play their own notes.  The songs included are Mary Had A Little Lamb, Row Row Row Your Boat, Twinkle Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Three Blind Mice.

The Zoo Train mode allows players to build their own trains and backgrounds and watch their creations go across the screen.

There’s also a Spelling mode in which youngsters must drag letters onto its correct place in a 3-5 letter word.  It’s basically a matching game, and whenever a letter is correctly placed, it’s pronounced.  When a word is completely, a picture and a full pronunciation is provided.

The final mode of Zoo Train is a drag-and-build track mode in which players must place pieces of railroad track over a pre-set pattern.  When the track is complete, a train will zoom around the track for a few seconds.

Zoo Train is a perfect app for toddlers and pre-schoolers.  Not only will it keep them engaged and occupied with a nice variety of game types, but each one mode also has educational value.  As parents of pre-schoolers ourselves, we definitely appreciate how Zoo Train is designed to keep kids engaged, not to trick them into buying other Apps.

I loved watching my 4-year-old help his 2-year-old brother place the train tracks. One app that kept both boys busy - and working together!
